On Campus and Around Town
In addition to utilizing the educational resources available in PCS and GSLIS facilities, students obtain invaluable experience through employment and volunteer opportunities in the many libraries and other cultural institutions on campus and around the city of Austin. Through these opportunities, students are able to apply the theories, skills, and techniques learned in the classroom and laboratory. Furthermore, students are exposed to the challenges and rewards of preservation and conservation work and how such work forms an integral part of the day-to-day operations of libraries, archives, and museums.
