THE COMPUTER VISION HOMEPAGE
http://www. cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/project/cil/ftp/html/vision.html
The CV Homepage was established at Carnegie Mellon University in 1994; provides comprehensive resources and information pertaining to computer vision research (emphasis on research); site provides comprehensive listings of Computer Vision groups, CV hardware, CV software, demos, test images, CV conferences, and CV publications & research. One of the best features of this site is its extensive list of related links/URLs.
ECVNet
http://afrodite.lira.dist.unige.it
The European Computer Vision Network (ECVnet) is an association of public, private, and industrial research laboratories devoted to the advancement of science and technology of computer vision in Europe; comprehensive site provides extensive resources re: research on "machines that see," general information on CV is provided, as well as CV research and information pertaining to Industry, Education, and Science; also provides information on CV groups, CV software and hardware, Image data bases, scientific publications, conferences/meetings, collaborative projects, CV technologies, and industrial applications; site includes links to CV research institutions and industries worldwide.
ISLAND VISION
Site established by the Computer Vision/Image Analysis Research Laboratory at the University of South Florida; focus includes designing and developing algorithms and techniques to solve practical problems in computer vision, image processing, and AI; includes listings of publications, models, data, upcoming conferences, teaching resources for Image Related Computation, and related resources.
THE COMPUTER VISION INDUSTRY
http://www.cs.ubc.ca/spider/lowe/
FONT>
Site provides information on commercially successful
applications of computer vision with links to company home pages; provides
background on which vision technologies are used by each company-list of
companies is extensive.
COMPUTER VISION AND PATTERN RECOGNITION
GROUP
http://www-dbv.cs.uni-bonn.de
<
P>Home page of the Computer Vision Group of the Computer
Science Department at the University of Bonn in Germany. Site offers CV
abstracts and technical reports, images and databases, stereo benchmark
images/testing stereo algorithms, general information re: CV, Pattern
Recognition,
Neural Networks, and Robotics as well as Literature Search facilities/search
engines and a number of links to related resources (including links re:
conferences in CV, Pattern Recognition, Neural Networks, and Robotics;
and journals/publications in in CV, Pattern Recognition, Neural Networks,
and Robotics).
CENTRE FOR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND
ROBOTICS
The Centre for AI and Robotics (CAIR) was established
in 1986 under the auspices of the Defence Research Organization (DRDO);
CAIR conducts applied research in the fields of AI, robotics, and automation
(emphasis on defense requirements); focus areas of CAIR are AI, Robotics,
CV, Neural Networks, Control Systems, and Learning Theory; site provides
information on CV hardware for early vision processing, modelling from
images, stereo for measurements, parts segmentation and identification,
Virtual Reality (VR) for training, VR for design, and VR for entertainment;
also includes information on Robot Path Planning.
AMERINEX APPLIED IMAGING
Amerinex Applied Imaging is a company specializing
in computer vision products, engineering, and research; site provides company
information, of course, but also offers useful information about Image
Understanding (IU): the automation of visual tasks by computer.
THE FACE RECOGNITION HOME PAGE
http://www.cs.rug.nl/~peterk
r/FACE/frhp.html
Site provides information re: face recognition
and CV, including list of research groups in face recognition, commercial
products re: face recognition, freeware (example: Face Detector Demo at
Carnegie Mellon University), tutorial on face recognition using neural
networks of CMU, and a number of Internet resources re: facial analysis,
facial animation, face databases, test images for face detection, Pattern
Recognition, and Neural Networks. Site also includes links to AI
newsgroups. One of the strongest attributes of this site is its extensive
links to related sites (for example, links to face processing pointers
and face databases). This site includes links to article archives
such as the Vision and Image Processing Archive and provides a comprehensive
list of on-line publications involving face recognition (as well as journal
articles and other resources involving face recognition and facial
analysis).
Included is a face recognition bibliography containing a database with
more than 200 articles concerning face recognition (from both computer
science and psychology perspectives).
VISION 1: The Vision and Imaging Technology
Resource
The Vision and Imaging Technology Resource provides
information for machine vision system developers; this is a commercial
website, but what's impressive about this site is its Imaging Information
Library, which provides extensive academic and research links to other
machine vision and image processing web sites.
