Competency Quiz 2 (10% of Final Grade)
Each student must show competency in basic skills needed to complete the
course. The competency examinations are required and are each worth
10% of the grade. Until the competency examinations are completed
satisfactorily no grade can be assigned in the remaining components of the
course.
Students should be able to do the following for the quiz 2:
- know all the answers required for quiz 1
- describe the concept of client/server computing
- issue commands to create and edit bookmarks in a Web browser
- describe the origins of the WWW
- describe the principles of PGP
- create and analyze a basic HTML document using links,
anchors, images, lists, and forms
- know how to link to paragraphs inside the same document
- know how to align text and images
- know principles of good HTML style
- describe the use of Meta tags
- know how to link to files using relative and
absolute pathnames
- know how to use a non-graphical Web browser
- know some search engines and indexes
- explain the use of Boolean operators
