Guidelines for Authors
Beginning in 2006, renamed Libraries & the Cultural Record, the journal will explore the history of the institutions, professions, and disciplines that are finding common ground in their stewardship of the cultural record.
With its new compass, Libraries & the Cultural Record invites for consideration for publication scholarly contributions that explore the related domains, individually and in concert, of libraries and librarianship, archival and records enterprise, preservation and conservation, museums and museum administration, and the antecedents of the emerging field of information.
We seek submissions highlighting the drama of those creating, organizing, preserving, and facilitating access to the cultural record—recorded knowledge of human discovery, creativity, and achievement. We especially welcome articles that highlight the interplay of historical forces, issues, people, and ideas. Manuscript Submission E-mail your manuscript as an MS Word attachment to landc@ischool.utexas.edu. Articles generally are in the 6,000 to 10,000 word range. Each manuscript should include:

Photos and Illustrations Please indicate any images (photos or illustrations) that may be available to accompany the text. Should the article be accepted for publication, it is the responsibility of the author to obtain official written permission (including preferred wording for citation) from the copyright holder or owner to reprint the item. The editor will make the final determination as to which images, if any, will be published. |
