Installing, Configuring, and Using McAfee VirusScan 4.5

The rapid proliferation of computer viruses make it imperative that information professionals be well-versed in the use of antivirus software. The UT Connect CD 2.7 provides an excellent antivirus program from Network Associates called McAfee VirusScan. However, the documentation for using this program is minimal, and configuring all the features of the program can take some time.

For the sake of your fellow students, TA's, and professors, INSTALL AND USE THIS PROGRAM! Users of Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express are especially susceptible to email viruses. Mac users should install and use Virex from the UT Connect CD 2.7.

The broadband tutorial uses streaming media and Sychronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL). Broadband connections require RealPlayer. Modem connections require Windows Media Player 7 which requires Windows 98 or above, and a minimum 28.8 connection.
