STUDENT DESIGN TEAM

The Spring 2002 Student Design Team worked tirelessly to bring a new look and updated content to the KidNet site! We are proud of both the effort and the results, and would now like to utilize a spot of web space to introduce the ten members of the team and recognize his or her contributions to KidNet.

Dr. Barbara Immroth Dr. Barbara Immroth

In her role as our Fearless Leader, Dr. Immroth has provided the assistance to make this project possible, and the encouragement to make it a reality. Her interests include her grandchildren, children's literature, and intellectual freedom. She is a member of the American Library Association American Libraries Advisory Committee, a former president of the Association for Library Services to Children, and a former president of the Texas Library Association.

Anbolyn Potter Anbolyn Potter

Responsible for the content of the Gateway for Librarians, Anbolyn spent many hours reviewing past offerings and searching for new web sites of interest to youth services librarians. An avid reader and baseball fan, Anbolyn is on the General Librarianship track and will receive her MLIS in August 2002. For Anbolyn, the best part of youth services is the opportunity to educate children.

Jan Koger and Barbara Davidson Jan Koger and Barbara Davidson

Jan and Barbara had the awesome task of revising the Alumni portion of this web site, contacting more than 150 alumni and encouraging many to provide information for our site. A self-avowed shopaholic, Jan will complete her studies in the Learning Resources track and receive her MLIS in December 2002. She is excited about youth services because it allows her to meet many different people! Barbara, a voracious reader and traveller, will receive her MLIS in August 2003. She is enthusastic about school librarianship, stating, "I believe I have the opportunity to reach into the future when I can motivate children to be excited about reading and exploring."

Linda Lopez and Denny Schulte Linda Lopez and Denny Schulte

Linda and Denny worked on the Faculty and Courses page, compiling a list of GSLIS courses related to youth services and creating links to information about the professors teaching the courses. Linda, who loves to read and tell people about her grandson, is following the Learning Resources track and will get her MLIS in May 2003. Denny, a fan of decorating and true crime novels, is also studying Learning Resources and will receive her MLIS in December 2003. Both Linda and Denny say that they love to work with children, with Denny adding that she wants to help as many children learn as possible.

Lourdes and Ivan Cervantes Lourdes and Ivan Cervantes

In charge of the Gateway for Kids page, Lourdes and Ivan verified each link on the old page, removed links that did not work, and searched for new and exciting web sites for kids. The dynamic duo of librarianship, Lourdes and Ivan are both working on degrees in library and information science; Lourdes is pursuing a Ph.D. and Ivan is working towards an MLIS. Interested in Learning Resources, they both enjoy working with children and are looking forward to being in a school library. In their spare time, they like to spend time with their dogs and visit the coast.

Shelby Counts and Kerry Rake Shelby Counts and Kerry Rake

Shelby and Kerry served as the web designers for KidNet and developed the content for the following pages: Home, Projects, and Student Design Team. Shelby, who loves to read and watch movies, is studying both General Librarianship and Learning Resources. Kerry, who enjoys M*A*S*H reruns and caring for her feline children, is in the General Librarianship track. Both Shelby and Kerry will graduate with an MLIS in May 2002, and are excited about youth services and encouraging children to develop a love of reading.
