Contents

Five electronic books on CD-ROM with titles:

Plus five accompanying printed booklets with the same titles, color poster, and user's guide. [Top of Page]

Interface/Navigation

The interface is good. Choosing "Settings", from the customized menu allows you to control what happens when you click words, pictures, speaker icons, and page corners. This feature reduces boredom for older students or simplifies use for younger users. "Auto Save" records custom settings and creates an automatic bookmark. [Top of Page]

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strenghts: As always with a National Geographic Product, one strength is its photography. The narrative voices are also clear and appealing. The text is concise yet challenging.

Weaknesses: The "Activity Guides" are only on the CD-ROM. A printed guide would facilitate parent/teacher use enormously.

Recommendation

I would purchase "The Human Body" for a media center collection because of its easy-to-use format, entertaining interactive features, and its solid, factual information base. [Top of Page]
