DESCRIPTION OF CURRENT YOUTH/CHILDREN'S SERVICES

At Jack C. Hays High School, I concentrate on building partnerships with teachers to improve the students' level of competence in searching, locating, and evaluating information. Such partnerships are also critical for fighting plagiarism and copyright abuse. The Web page is a customizable tool that increases students' awareness and use of library resources. We are in direct competition with Ask Jeeves and other search engines, and feel that students must be convinced of the comparative advantage of using the library resources versus a search engine.
