WELCOME
KidNet provides resources for prospective and practicing youth
librarians in both schools and public libraries. The information focuses
on the issues, interests, and concerns of youth through the age of 18.
In Spring 2002, the site was revised and updated by a Student
Design Team from LIS 382L.17, Electronic
Resources For Children and Youth, at the Graduate School of Library
and Information Science (GSLIS), a part of The University of Texas at
Austin.
This site was created originally by Tanya DiMaggio, as part of an independent
study. In 1999, Laurie Packard revised and updated it, also as part
of an independent study. Since that time, various students and staff
have maintained the site, retaining much of the original content. The
current version of this site also incorporates the original content
into its various pages.
The people we would like to thank are too numerous to list here; however,
we specifically want to express our appreciation to Dr. Barbara Immroth
for her continued support of this project and library services to youth.
Her assistance has been invaluable.
