Course Objectives:
To deepen students‘ understanding of the theory and practice of archival administration through study of the physical environment of archival operations within the broad contexts of archival enterprise, relationships with related information-delivery operations, and the social context within which the archival service to its immediate users and to society exists.
To prepare students to operate in an archival environment
by considering the relationships of archival functions and the spaces appropriate for carrying them out,
by exploring ways to make the archival experience (a) more inviting, enjoyable, and efficient for users and (b) more effective and pleasant for archival staff,
by stimulating creative thinking about the processes and functions of archival operations, and
by exercising abilities to present thoughts orally and in writing.
