ARCHIVES WEEK CLINIC ON OCTOBER 14

Ever wonder how best to organize, store, and preserve your family's history contained in documents, photos, and audio-visual recordings?  Ever wonder how the experts preserve the items that document our society's heritage?  Have you ever simply wanted to know what goes on at the Austin History Center archives?  Or how you, too, can utilize the information held in archives?  To answer your specific questions the Society of American Archivists-UT Student Chapter and the Austin History Center invite you to a free Archives Clinic at the Austin History Center located at 810 Guadalupe Street on Saturday, October 14, 2000, during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Students and faculty from The University of Texas Graduate School of Library and Information Science along with staff archivists from the Austin History Center will be available to share advice on organizing, storage, and archival preservation.  Everyone is welcome to drop in during the day with their own family's photos, slide, scrapbooks, documents, super 8 mm films, and videos.  Staff and students will provide specific recommendations on how best to handle your special materials and will invite you to explore examples that will be on hand.  Free literature will be available.
