Now let’s add a link to the Austin Chronicle. Highlight the words and place your cursor in the Link field of the Properties Window. Type the entire URL. In this case, http://www.auschron.com. Now click on the highlighted word and it should look blue and underlined, signaling that it is a link.

If you’d like to link within a page, a named anchor is in order. Place your cursor at the top of the page and select the anchor icon from the Insert window. I’m going to call my anchor “top”. Now I’ll cursor down a bit and type “back to top”, highlight the text, and enter “#top” in the Link field of the Properties window. The “#” establishes the link as somewhere in the current page. We called the anchor “top” and so that is what followed the “#” symbol.
