Now I’m going to show you how to insert a picture or image into your presentation. To insert a picture, just go to “Insert: Picture” and you’ll see a window that displays different picture types you can insert into your presentation. If you have your own picture that you’ve already prepared to be included in your presentation, select “From File” and then choose the appropriate file location. In this case, I’ve put a picture on the Desktop, over here, and it’s called “Sunset”. There it is. Now all I have to do is click on it two times, and it’s been inserted.
Now that you’ve inserted an image into your presentation, you may want
to change its size, shape, or location on the individual slide. To change its
size, move the pointer on top of it, click once, and you’ll see these
dots along the edge of the picture. These dots are called “Sizing Handles”.
To change the size of the image, select one of the corner sizing handles, click
and press down on the mouse button and move it to a desired size, and then
lift up.
To change the shape of the picture, select one of the other four buttons
on the sides of the picture, click and press down on the mouse button, and
move it to the desired shape, and lift up when you’re happy with that
particular shape.
Now, to move the picture, all you have to do is select within the picture – with
the pointer on top of it, here – click down on the mouse button, hold
it down, and move the picture around like this. When you’re happy with
the location, just lift up.
Another way you can move the picture is by clicking on it like you did before, and then using the direction arrows on your keyboard. Right now, I’m hitting the “up” button and you can see that the picture is moving up, now it’s moving left, and now it’s moving right. The advantage of this is you can be a little more accurate, and it’s easier on your wrist.
One other thing you can do is rotate your picture. You can select this green
sizing handle here, click your mouse button and hold it down, and rotate the
picture by moving to the right and left, like this. When you’re satisfied
with the new position, lift up, and you’ve got a new sized picture.
