Organizing and SearchingInformation and your Images Information such as the name, date of creation, format, and size of the file will be displayed in an Information panel at the bottom of the Source list. You can change the title, date, and time fields by selecting them and typing in the changes. You can also add descriptions to your images by selecting an image, clicking on the “i” tab, and then typing or pasting a description into the “Comments” field. You can type up to 1000 words in this field. Keywords To add keywords to the preset list: from the main menu, click on iPhoto --> Preferences, and then select the Keywords icon. Click the “Add” tab and type in your category name. To remove keywords from the list, highlight the keyword and click on the “Remove” tab. To close the preferences window, click the red ‘X” at the upper left. There is another way to assign keywords to your images. First, select the key icon from the lower panel, below the Source list. An expandable and contractible list of keywords should appear. Select an image or a group of images and drag them to the keyword that you would like to be associated with them. You’ll see that the keywords you associate with your images will be listed below each image. (The keywords will not be displayed if the image is displayed full screen.) SearchingThe best part about all these information features is that they’re searchable. You can use the search field to search terms that might appear in your keywords list, metadata, or comments fields. |
