Using Loops

GarageBand 2.0 comes with over 1,000 pre-made loops.   These can be added to your recorded performances (ex: add a drum track or a bass line).   You can also create songs made entirely of loops; this is an easy way to create soundtracks for your other iLife creations.   Also, creating songs with the loop library is a fun way to become more familiar with GarageBand.

To open the loop browser, click on the eye button in the lower left corner of the window (yes, it's a rather unintuitive icon).
