  1. Registration Times
New and readmitted students not yet registered can register at the designated time, according to the Course Schedule.

  2. Registration Options
ROSE is the easiest way to register. To use ROSE, you will need to claim your UT EID. After entering the registration system, you update your registration record immediately each time the submit button is used. Each ROSE registration session is limited to twenty minutes, but you may re-enter ROSE registration any time during your access period and pick up where you left off. See a preview of ROSE registration which includes tips on using ROSE.

Students may also register by phone using the Telephone Enrollment eXchange (TEX). To access TEX, dial (512) 475-9800 using a touch-tone phone. To use TEX, you will need to know your student identification number, personal identification number (PIN), transaction codes, optional fee code selections, and the unique numbers of preferred and alternate course selections. For a ready source of this information, complete the "Registration Worksheet," in the front section of the Course Schedule. Each call to TEX is limited to twenty minutes, but you may call back any time during your access period. Transactions completed during any call will not be lost. Keep a pencil and paper handy to write down information that TEX gives you.

Later registration will be available during the first four class dates (summer only). A late registration fee of $25.00 is in effect during this period.

For more information about registration, visit the Office of the Registrar's Web site.

  3. Add/Drop
ROSE is the easiest way to add/drop. Follow the instructions in the Course Schedule for telephone registration. Note that the Course Schedule also explains the procedure and access periods for adding and dropping. NOTE: Confirm in the Course Schedule the last day to drop a class for a possible refund.

Students admitted with conditions may not drop any classes until they have fulfilled their conditions. Visit the Graduate School Web site for more.

  4. Paying Tuition and Fees
There are a number of ways to pay your tuition and fees. The UT Student Central page has links to student finances areas. UTDirect has a link at the top of the page to My Finances. You can access the Students Accounts Receivable page for even more payment options. Fee bills MUST be paid by 5:00 p.m. on the date designated in the Course Schedule, or your registration will automatically be canceled.

  5. ID Card
Students may obtain an identification card at the ID Center located in the Flawn Academic Center on the main floor and is open between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. To have an ID card issued, you must present photo identification (e.g., driver's license, passport). A $10 fee is charged for each card issued and must be paid within thirty days to the cashiers in MAI 8.

Continuing Students: If you have an ID card with a magnetic strip, it will be validated automatically after you have paid your fees. You do not need to report to the ID center.

  6. Classes
To confirm the first class day please consult the Course Schedule. Attend the first scheduled session of your classes, even if you have not completed registration or added the course. The course schedule explains the procedure and access periods for adding and dropping courses.
