Give hours - Help the community - Make connections - Show your iSchool spirit
Philanthropy is vital to the School of Information. Each year foundations, corporations and hundreds of individuals support the school financially as well as with gifts of their time through volunteering. These donors give back through financial gifts that range from an annual donation of any size, to endowed gifts of $25,000 and more. The school also has more than 30 volunteer advisory council members who are committed to its advancement, and countless other volunteers who come back to give their time in the classroom as well as in our career services office. In celebration of the support these donors provide the school, iSchool students are kicking off the third annual iSchool iGive Campaign.
You Can Do A Lot Of Good In 2 Hours!
- Choose an opportunity
- Give at least two hours of your time
- Honor student giving
In conjunction with UT's capital campaign, our students are challenging themselves to give back by volunteering a minimum of two hours of volunteer service to any organization during the fall semester. Last year, almost 90 students submitted volunteer information that added up to more than 3,000 hours of service to our community. iSchool students volunteered for a wide range of organizations and causes. Some chose to pursue opportunities related to their career interests in libraries, archives, and museums, while others devoted time to political campaigns, the humane society, the Girl Scouts, and many other non-profit and volunteer efforts.
