  1. The School of Information awards eighteen (18) Academic Competitive Scholarships that include a non-resident tuition waiver each year.
  2. You may qualify for in-state tuition if:
    • You (or your spouse) are an active member of an Armed Forces Reserve Unit.
    • You are employed by the University of Texas as a research assistant or a teaching assistant position for 20 or more hours per week for the entire semester. Spouses of these students may also qualify for in-state tuition.
    • If your spouse is employed at least one-half time in another capacity at UT Austin. The Graduate and International Admissions Office determines residence status.
