Strong iSchool Presence at ASIS&T Conference

The iSchool had a very strong presence at this year's annual conference of the American Society for Information Science and Technology.

Randolph Bias presented in a panel on Usability in Practice, Andrew Dillon presented in a panel on User-Centered Design, and Fran Miksa presented in a panel on Classification across Disciplines.

Three student-faculty papers were also presented at the conference and published in the proceedings:

Anil Singh and Glynn Harmon presented "Measuring Profitability Impacts of Information Technology: Use of Risk-Adjusted Measures".

Bethany Letalien and Hsin-Liang Chen presented "Fitting Users' Needs into Web-based Area Studies Resources: A study of the Latin American Network Information Center".

Mike Alexander and Hsin-Liang Chen presented "Perceptions and Effects of a System's Usability by Experience Level".

The conference attracted over 700 attendees and is the leading information science conference in the US. The proceedings, entitled 'Humanizing Information: From Ideas to Bits and Back' are published by Information Today.
