I met with NWIC librarians Nancy Carroll
and Chip, and with the K-8 librarian Claudia. I brought about 30 books
with me, posters, a packet on internet advocacy and training from ALA,
50 plastic book bags with kid-friendly "Love Your Library" logos and activity books from Between
the Lions - all from ALA exhibitors. School was out so I was unable
to meet with any children, but I spent a good afternoon with Chip (the
NWIC children's librarian) and Claudia. Unfortunately Claudia will not
be with the school next year, but Chip is willing to work with us until
a new librarian is hired at the school.
Claudia said that they could use books on holidays, art history books,
and high school level books.
